Social isolation and loneliness

If you or someone you care about is experiencing loneliness or social isolation, support and advice is available.

You can find a list of useful organisations, local and national, that may be able to offer you support below:

Age UK Wirral

Provides advice, local services and support to make life easier for older people, including active activities, bathing, befriending and support for carers.
Campaign to End Loneliness

This nationwide organisation draws on research and information across the UK to offer ideas to both individuals and those working with older people.  New volunteers would be welcomed.
Carers Trust

Provides information, advice and practical support for carers.
Carers UK

This group offers carers mutual support and friendship to improve their wellbeing.
Children’s Centre Activities

Local centres providing childcare, family support and a range of parent and toddler activities.
Citizens Advice Wirral

Helps people resolve legal, money, relationship, consumer and other problems by providing free, impartial and confidential information and advice.
Community Action Wirral

Promotes, supports, engages and involves the amazing work happening in and around Wirral communities.

Merseyside Society for Deaf People

We are here to advance equality for people with hearing loss across Merseyside and beyond. We provide specialist services for people who are deaf, deaf-blind or hard of hearing as well as industry leading training for individuals, business and the public sector.

Re-engage is making life less lonely for thousands of older people every year. Older people tell us that our volunteer-led activities make them happier and more able to trust others.

Offers a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way, about whatever’s getting to you.
Stroke Association

To help you rebuild your life after stroke. Stroke Association offers a range of support services and groups, an online stroke support tool, and a dedicated helpline.
