Citizens Advice Wirral have recently released their cost of living newsletter which has helpful tips and information to get you through the Christmas period. This includes shopping, keeping warm, and financial assistance.
02/10/2025 – Reducing medicines waste – only order what you need
A large amount of medicines are wasted in Cheshire and Merseyside each year. We need your help to reduce this. NHS Cheshire and Merseyside have published further information on their website.
22/09/2025 – Self-referral system for health coaches
Patients can now self-refer to see one of our health coaches for help with their weight, cholesterol, and/or diabetes.
23/06/2025 – Mounjaro weight loss injections
Due to guidance from our local ICB, the Mounjaro injection for weight loss is not yet available at the surgery. NHS England have released a strict policy for at least the first two years who can have the injection.
To be eligible, you have a BMI of 40 or higher and at least four of the five following conditions, which will already have been diagnosed by your GP or another medical professional:
• Hypertension
• Dyslipidaemia
• Obstructive sleep apnoea
• Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
• Type 2 diabetes mellitus
