Overview
We are pleased to let you know that from Wednesday 28 February 2026, our surgery will be moving our online consultations from Patchs to a new digital service called Blinx PACO (Patient & Care Optimiser).
We are hoping that this switch will offer an improved patient experience and increase the access of patients to our services. The switch will be undertaken by some other surgeries in the North Coast Alliance PCN in the coming months.
Why are we changing?
Having conducted due diligence by speaking to surgeries currently live with Blinx and receiving training directly with Blinx, we believe it is the best thing to do for our patients.
There are certainly similarities moving from Patchs to Blinx PACO and appointments will still be triaged by our GPs. We hope that this is a transition that all patients can make without difficulties, but our staff will be on hand to help you with any issues.
What are the benefits for you?
Moving to Blinx PACO allows us to offer patients more benefits over our current system.
Patient benefits
- Self-book appointments online
Choose a date, time, and clinician (subject to availability). This will allow you to see who you want more often, or choose an earlier appointment with any clinician that is available. - Easier to login
You do not need an account, just your NHS number and date of birth. You can click here to find your NHS number. - Streamlined requests online
We will be able to have greater control of the questions you are asked when contacting the surgery online. This will allow us to tailor forms and questionnaires that enable you to get the correct treatment, advice, or appointment in a shorter time frame. - Receive updates and messages securely
You’ll hear back from us faster and more clearly. - Simplicity
We believe Blinx PACO is simpler to use, whilst also offering greater flexibility for online access.
We are confident that this change will make it easier for you to contact us, manage your care, and get the help you need. Thank you for your continued support as we make this improvement for our surgery community.
